Why do you love doing what you do?
I love every aspect of my web design business. I love design, words, numbers, and people. It's a privilege to encourage other entrepreneurs to actualize their dreams while I create a custom digital presence for them. Strategic messaging and design considerations are challenging in an exhilarating way, and when everything comes together in the most effective way, I'm satisfied.
Through my work, I've met some of the most amazing people. My clients inspire me, and my engagements with other creatives (copywriters, photographers, artists, instructors) have been affirming. These are my people. We're on the same journey, and it's an honor to walk together.
Have you always been independent? What has your career trajectory been?
I love this question!
I have a degree in English and a master's degree in Literacy. I taught English and public speaking at the secondary level for 23 years. I loved everything about teaching, but I've always had this desire to engage my artistic side in a way that helps others. Web design is the perfect answer because it's a perfect blend of art, words, and people.
My transition from high school teacher to entrepreneur has been exhilarating and terrifying. It's one of the hardest, most fulfilling things I've ever done. I left a safe job (pension, benefits, etc.) for a dream. The most beautiful part? Dreams do come true!
