How do you continue to grow your professional skills?

The best way to grow and improve is to practice! I also love growing my skills by taking online courses on skill share sites. Right now my favorite place to learn and grow is on Domestika because it helps me practice my Spanish and connects me to TOP professionals in the industry.

What does the perfect job look like to you?

The perfect job is an opportunity to help a client develop their dream and problem solve or to make a custom piece that makes someone happy. For branding and web design, this means lots of collaboration, connection, and a sprinkle of self-discovery for both of us. For watercolor commissions, it means delivering a painting that makes the client feel genuinely happy whenever they see it. I truly love both digital and fine art commissions.

Who inspires you?

Currently I am inspired by the watercolors of Wendy MacNaughton (illustrator for the book "Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat) because when I first saw her work I felt seen and represented. Her style is very playful, cartoonish and creative and strays from literal representation and I see a lot of that same playfulness in my own work. Her use of watercolors and ink pens, soft color with hard lines, is another element of design that I use a lot.

Artists from art history that I love include: Frida Kahlo, Monet, Cezanne, Sargent, Rodin, Piet Mondrian, Henry Moore, and so many more.

What's the best way for someone to reach you for a collaboration or project opportunity?
