I am a User Experience Researcher with 10+ years of experience in applied research, research design, interviewing, journey mapping, and testing users to understand needs and pain points. I love providing actionable insights to diverse industries including higher education, medical device companies, local and federal governments, and consulting companies.
I hold a PhD in Neuroscience with minors in Cognitive Science and Human Factors from the University of Minnesota. I have worked on and off in the UX field since the early 2000s, using both quantitative and qualitative methods.
I am open to a range of projects. I have about 5 to 10 hours available per week.
I am a trained scientist. I loved doing the science - designing studies, analyzing the data, and generating conclusions, but science moves very sloooowly and it was hard to realize any immediate impact - even within the scientific community! In UX research, the research can have an immediate, real, and direct impact on a diverse range of fields and industries. I love seeing my research in action.
