I bring a combination of fun, creativity, and attention-to-detail that builds brands from the ground up. Creativity flows through everything I do, whether that's the nuts-and-bolts of building a WordPress site or developing effective and dynamic copy to revitalize your brand. Quality content, delivered on time, is always the driving force for everything I do.

My specialty begins understanding what is the unique proposition that your company delivers,I give it tone, voice, and personality. While I bring over 25 years of experience refining best practices, I believe at its core, publishing online , the development always obeys content and not the other way around. I'm very pragmatic in that way.
Working at the nexus of content and technology, I bring creativity but won't miss the deadline. I'm a boot on the ground, getting the work done while bringing a sense of play and creativity to my clients. I abhor working in a vaccuum.
I'm very open to influence and observant of achievements in other fields. Recently I've been focusing on the architecture of Mies Van Der Rohe, who said, “ Architecture is the will of an epoch translated into space.”
I admire people in the armed services, especially the Marine Corps, where my father and uncle served. The determination and marshaling of resources to get things done is inspiring.
I love learning about what other people do and how they do it. I work to re-invent myself and my environment. Being paid to have creative fun and cut through the clutter to work at the heart of something. The most rewarding work I've done has been in commercial art fields such as fashion and furniture.
I went to university, learned languages, got my Master’s Degree in English Literature, and went to work in the entertainment industry (HBO). After six years, I struck out on my own, founding and running GayTravel.com in the 90s, and have been independent since exiting that in 2000.
I've benefited from mentors who have been colleagues, clients, and teachers. An English professor helped me understand two principles that have helped me over the years:
1) Abstract thinking is the highest form of intelligence.
2) You don't have to work hard to kill a bad idea… it will die on its own.
I've had many clients and projects in the fashion industry over the past decade. I'm fascinated by the industry’s mechanics and my role working where fashion meets technology.
I was tapped by a major couture house to build the plan for spinning up a new brand that was distinct from the core label. I also worked with a furniture manufacturer outside of fashion to develop an eCommerce store for their catalog of over 50,000 SKUs. Building this store - from nothing - was one of the most significant technology and integration challenges I've tackled in my career.
I've been working with a milliner specializing in hats for the Kentucky Derby and has more recently developed a high-end line of face masks. Technically, I’m experimenting with narrative in ecommerce and how to do that well.
My ideal client is open to fostering creativity while having concrete goals. A designer who is moving into a new space or a new brand/business that is just getting started and needs someone to help them from ground zero and work from the bottom up. While I have extensive experience in fashion, furniture, and travel, a new industry would tap into my passion for learning new things.
I am an expert in WordPress and can easily create new sites or fix and troubleshoot problems for clients. I'm also available to take on small projects from landing pages and galleries to copywriting and other creative needs.
