How do you keep the creative fires burning?
Travel is the short answer, but that hasn’t been the easiest this past year. I’ve challenged myself to walk around neighborhoods close by and to look at everything I see through a new set of eyes. From architecture to storefront windows to the fashion people wear, I am constantly finding new sources of inspiration.
Who inspires you?
Not so much of a person as it is a place and the spirit of its people.
New York City, more specifically, Harlem, NY. The buildings, the vibe, the energy, the people, the hustle, and the strength. My vibrant city helped shape who I am as an entrepreneur, and I see traces of my hometown in everything I create.
What is your primary focus as an independent professional?
Developing brand identities for Black, Indigenous, and Womxn of Color owned businesses.
What does the perfect job look like to you?
I am a collaborator. Truly. Every chance to bring new points of view to the table and the ability to try things to creatively problem-solve for whatever the project needs.
