Hello Henry Brockman,

Thank you for taking the time to read through the proposal I’m sending to you. I hope that all your needs will be met by my consultants and me in this new business development opportunity for your business in the US, and potential outreach in other English-speaking markets.

As you already know I’ve opened my business development consulting firm in 2015, and have helped businesses across the US increase in profit, and branch out to the EU market. With a product as your own, I’m sure we won’t have any difficulty selling it, we just need the right strategy in place.

In the next section of this proposal, you’ll find our ways to achieve the goals you had in mind, and possibly exceed them once the collaboration is over. If some aspects need more clarity or wish to change we’ll be happy to change them.

Best,

James Hall

Why James Hall for business services?

This is what our previous client had to say about us:

  • I never thought about branching out to the UK market but thanks to James Hall I found a whole new pool of clients that wanted our products. It was astonishing how easily they were able to branch into the market and convert to sales. - Frank, CEO of e-commerce business
  • James Hall was able to find the flaws in our business, and made it possible for us to increase sales by 20% within a year. Just by looking at how we ran things. - Joanne, CFO of e-commerce business

Through my dedication and precision, I’ve helped clients come out of financial conundrums and helped them reach new markets.

Project description

From what I understand, you’re looking to expand your current customer base, to other English-speaking markets around the world. With our on-the-ground approach and cultural understanding of different markets, with our proven track record you’ll be able to branch out of your niche and increase sales and customer base.

As I send out this proposal I already have some of my team looking into the best ways your product can succeed out of the US, and if there are market areas in the US that haven’t been taken into consideration thus far.

Objectives

Here is the plan for how my business services will meet your goals. Let me break down the specific targets and how they will be met.

  • Market research to every English-speaking market outside of the US.
  • Once the research is done we will send in a report with the pros and cons of each market in question, looking at analytical statistics, and the cultural background of each area.
  • Roadmap for implementation. From ADV marketing to on-the-ground PR events.
  • Results will be monitored every quarter by my team and yours.
  • Weekly reports will be sent to Henry Brockman to highlight progress.

Any adjustments to the plans can be made by sending me a message via email at james.hall@gmail.com or by phone.

Deadline and deliverables

It’s of the utmost importance that we respect deadlines to ensure you have all your financials in order. Below you’ll find a list of deadlines we will be implementing:

  • First Market research will be sent when the contract is signed, and will then be updated every month to see if there are any new issues in the markets we are looking at.
  • The roadmap for implementation of the marketing strategy will be sent within the first month of signing the contract, and we will have weekly meetings regarding how they are being executed, and the results we see.
  • Every quarter we will send in a summary report of all the practices that have been implemented, from market research to marketing strategy implementation, in which we will see what needs to be adjusted.

My team and I will make sure you’ll have everything explained to you, or whoever will be in charge of looking over the project, and will always be available to talk if needed.

Payment terms

Projects such as this one run for several months before they finish. To facilitate these projects, I offer a schedule of payments. Here are the payment milestones:

  • 25% initial payment due upon signing the contract and before any work begins.
  • A further 25% of the total will be invoiced once the plan has been approved.
  • The next 25% of the total will be due at the end of the 3rd quarter of the contract.
  • Payment of the remaining 25% will be due once the final weekly report is made to signal the end of the contract.

An electronic invoice will be sent once the contract has been signed. Each invoice is payable within 30 business days of receipt. Late payments may result in the suspension of work and/or late fees as specified in the contract.

Agreement

Once you agree to this proposal, I will prepare a simple contract for you. The contract will reference the terms of this proposal, including any amendments you suggest. If you agree to these terms, please sign below, and return this proposal to me.

What is a business development proposal template?

When your goal is to expand your business, grow your brand or increase your network, you think of a good business development proposal to set things in motion. Business development proposals are a piece of document to set goals and explains how you want to get them achieved. They state your current positioning, helps devise and execute strategic plans to enhance your business activities. In these proposals, information as regards business expansion, sales growth, formation of plans, and increased profitability are clearly explained.

Basically, a business development plan summarizes your initiatives, ideas, and activities as a business owner with the goal of improving your productivity and reaching your business goal. As a business owner, you can have a long-term or short-term business focus, and you must ensure all your business activities are driven or aligned with that purpose. However, there is room for reviewing and revision. As your business evolves, there might be a need for you to add or subtract some things to reflect the current realities.

That's why business development is a roadmap to growth that your business needs. It advances your goal, opens you to a wide range of business opportunity, and makes your vision clearer, specific, and realistic. Developing your business proposal cuts across all aspect involved in it. From sales to product management, marketing to project management and others are captured in the template. A good business development proposal template is a fantastic marketing strategy to attract potential customers. It could be your selling point, creating the perfect opportunity to show your clients that you have all that it takes to get the best they want.

Potential sponsors or investors use this plan to track your progress and measure your performance over time. They look through your recommendations if they meet their own requirements. Some of your prospective investors will check if your proposal is within their budget. Most times, investors do consider when you have been in the business; what are the areas you specialize in, and how well you have contributed to meeting the need of your customers.

For that reason, always avoid business proposal that has an unclear vision of the future. Steer clear of vague or incomplete proposals that are unfounded or unrealistic. Vague proposals will not only waste your time, resources and effort. It will also paint the business in a bad light to your prospective investors. Don’t waste your effort writing a proposal without a clear understanding of your current positioning. It is your current situation that gives you good projection that attracts your potential investors, making them develop an interest in the benefits they will enjoy partnering with you. Poorly written business development plans can lead to a major business slump as sponsors who would have subscribed to your ideas might refuse to do so.

Overall, business development can be seen as a practice of identifying and acquiring new business ideas to further increase your company's income and reaching forward to achieving your business goals. How this can be done is what is known as a business development strategy – and it applies the benefits that everyone will gain in the long run.
