Marketing Consultant Proposal Template FAQ

What Is a Marketing Consultant Proposal Template?

A proposal template is a document you can prepare in advance that has reusable blocks of information to help speed up your writing process. When you are ready to write a new proposal, simply customize the old template with relevant and useful info for your client.

Having a well-designed proposal is the key to securing new jobs and taking on exciting projects. Sending your potential client an attractive, clear proposal puts you miles ahead of any other competition in bidding for their business.

A template for your proposal will make it look professional and ensure all the necessary information is included such as business logos, contact info, etc. Include topics like previous clients' positive feedback or examples from other projects you've completed to give a better idea of what they can expect when working with you.

Create a proposal template to save time and make your proposals look more professional. Every new proposal will have the same level of design quality which establishes your brand and makes a great impression on clients you want to win.

How to write a Marketing Consultant proposal template?

In just a few easy steps, we will show you how to create your own Marketing Consultant proposal template.

First, you need a few things:

  • You’ll be using a document editor. You could use a separate app such as Word, Google Docs, Adobe InDesign, or Pages.
  • Indy's Proposals tool is a great way to create your proposal for clients, because it integrates with the rest of your workflow, such as client records, job contracts and time tracking.
  • You should also have access to any external files or media you want to include. For example, you will want your logo and pictures of landing pages you have already finished.

Now that you have those things, you can begin writing your Marketing Consultant proposal template.

To create a strong proposal template, look at an example of one that's already done well. If you have examples from previous proposals on hand, note what information is reusable and then use those as your guide for copying or rewriting it in the new document. For instance, if there are customer success stories included with the first one, make sure to include them when making your new template.

If you don’t have a completed template, then writing a proposal template from scratch using Indy’s proposal template is easy. Simply create a new template and you are ready to start editing.

Here are the basic steps:

  1. In your new proposal template, add your company information and branding.
  2. Review the sections in the template and add or remove sections as you need them.
  3. Add information to each section. Focus on what you can reuse for every client.
  4. Once you have added all the reusable information, save your work.

That’s it! Your new proposal template is finished.

As you are creating a full proposal, test the template by making note of any information that is missing. When done with your proposal, go back to add it to your template so this process becomes easier in the future.

What should be in a Marketing Consultant proposal template?

A professional, creative proposal is necessary for consulting jobs. You must present yourself in a positive light and be able to persuade potential clients with your knowledge of the industry.

Here are the elements we think you should include in every Marketing Consultant proposal:

  • Beautiful Cover Page. There's no excuse for a boring cover page, especially when you're trying to make an impression on your client. Remember: first impressions count!
  • Service Description. This section will go over the scope of your project with specific details about how you plan to accomplish this. It's important that it's clear, concise, and provides enough information so that there are no surprises in costs or timeframes when working together on a long-term basis.
  • Marketing Consultant Process and Milestones. In this section of the proposal, it is important to help clients understand what will happen and when things are going to be finished. The client should also know exactly which tasks you'll accomplish throughout your journey together.
  • Social Proof. Show your client you're ready for the job by showcasing case studies, testimonials, and feedback in your portfolio. This will show them they can expect high-quality work from you.
  • Costs and Pricing. The best time to discuss money is once you have established a strong connection with your client, and after they are confident in hiring you. Once they have reached this point of trust, show them your prices.

From here, you can wrap up the proposal template with next steps the customer can take. These can include:

  • A digital signing service for making the approval process happen much faster.
  • A standard contract your client can review. Your contract can reference your proposal to make the client-specific sections relevant.
  • You can also include a payment method here to help your client get started quickly.

Your proposal will show new customers how professional, business-savvy and hardworking you are. Cover page to last payment option, every element is carefully crafted so they can relax while making a decision with complete confidence that their choice was the best one possible.

Your speed and efficiency will impress clients.
  • An attractive, well-designed proposal template will make you look better because it is efficient and impresses clients. In addition to making your work more appealing, customizing a template so that it looks good sets you apart from others who send plain emails or unattractive proposals.

Project description

You introduced yourself to the client. Now, it’s time to show them you understand what they need and can deliver it for them. Write a paragraph or two in your proposal about the marketing consulting services they need and how you can deliver them.

Based on your information, {CLIENT NAME} needs to increase your revenue by 3% in the next 180 days. You want to achieve this by optimizing your website’s sales pages to boost your conversion rates to 5% on average for your 120 product sales pages. {CLIENT NAME} offers super products at reasonable prices, so the conversion rates are probably being affected by the page content rather than the products on offer. {YOUR NAME} will review each page and make changes as necessary to meet the conversion rate targets.

Conversion rate optimization is one of the services {YOUR NAME} offers. Previous clients have seen increases between 2% - 4% during our projects.

Objectives

In this section, you can be even more specific about your marketing consulting services. Your proposal can include specific targets to be met, software and equipment to be used, and reporting structure can be included. Cost and deadlines will be covered later.

Here is the plan for how my marketing services will meet your goals. Let me break down the specific targets and how they will be met.

  • Each page will be reviewed with Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) software. An audit and action plan for each page will be prepared for your review.
  • Each page will be improved based on the approved action plan.
  • Results will be monitored over a period of six weeks using Google Analytics and Data Studio.
  • Weekly reports will be sent to {CLIENT NAME} to highlight progress and flag up any issues that should be addressed.

Any adjustments to the plans can be made by sending me a message via the Slack channel or by email at {YOUR EMAIL}.

Deadline and deliverables

You should commit yourself to reasonable deadlines. Be sure to allow plenty of time for the work to be completed. Specific delivery formats can be highlighted in the proposal if this is relevant to the project.

I am committed to meeting your deadlines and delivering quality business work on schedule. Here are the milestones for this project:

  • Each page will be audited with an action plan within the first two weeks of starting the project.
  • Audits and action plans will be delivered as PDF files. Each one will be set up with a file sign-off system to track the progress of the documentation.
  • The approved action plans will all be completed within six weeks of launching the project. All work will happen within the CMS of {CLIENT NAME}.
  • Weekly reports will be produced for a period of six months from the start of the project. These will be sent as PDF files to {CLIENT EMAIL ADDRESS}.

My services have a reputation for organization, follow through, and prompt delivery. I take pride in this reputation and look forward to delivering exceptional results for {CLIENT NAME}.

Payment terms

Structuring your payments is important for your cash flow and the client’s clarity. List specific payments and dates in your proposal to avoid any confusion. You should also include details about any extra work or extra charges for your marketing consulting services.

Projects such as this one run for several months before they finish. To facilitate these projects, I offer a schedule of payments. Here are the payment milestones:

  • 25% initial payment due upon signing the contract and before any work begins.
  • A further 25% of the total will be invoiced once the final audit and action plan has been approved.
  • The next 25% of the total will be due once the final page has been optimized.
  • Payment of the remaining 25% will be due once the final weekly report is made to signal the end of the contract.

All the pages should be optimized once during the process. If further optimization is required during the monitoring phase, any extra work will be billed monthly at a rate of $65 per hour.

Electronic invoice will be sent once the contract has been signed and milestones passed. Each invoice is payable within 10 business days of receipt. Late payments may result in suspension of work and/or late fees as specified in the contract.

Agreement

Once you agree to this proposal, I will prepare a simple contract for this marketing project. The contract will reference the terms of this proposal, including any amendments you suggest. If you agree to these terms, please sign below, and return this proposal to me.

Thank you very much. I look forward to working with you.
